《誰之故事：佛教敘事的跨學科和多源方法研究》(Whose Stories: Interdisciplinary and Multisourced Approaches to Buddhist Narratives)，湛如、陳金華編，2023年。
佛教敘事具有其內在邏輯。佛教因明(梵文：Hetuvidyā) 源自天竺，旨在推理與辯論，也同时昭示佛教獨特之認識論、現象學和詮釋學。佛教因明處理佛教核心教義問題，既為哲學探究之工具，亦為進階佛教修行指導之原則。佛教因明之多重功能，故也意味著它對佛教敘事文學有深遠之影響。
佛教之“空”觀，使東亞文人傾向於將人生視為短暫且無常，自中世以降，此种思维潛移默化地改變了東亞之審美。例如，中觀學派對心物關係之看法，以及受中觀哲學影響之禪宗自然觀，就促成了中國獨特之 “境界” 說。而佛教對精神成就之重視亦且豐富了六朝時期（222-589）以降之文學與美學概念——“神”。禪宗所宣導之 “頓悟” 與 “靈感” 之說，更推動了中國美學對 “境界” 之追求，並吸引了諸多文人對 “味外味” 這種神秘體驗之追尋。
為全面探討佛教敘事文學及其相關因果邏輯問題，並將其置於各地區更廣泛之佛教傳統背景下，旭日佛教研究全球網路之兩所合作大學——北京大學佛教典籍與藝術研究中心與英屬哥倫比亞大學（UBC）——於2022年11月25日至27日聯合舉辦了國際會議 “‘如是我聞’：佛教敘事範式與邏輯”。
此次會議蒙受海內外學者之熱烈響應，共收取43篇論文。除三位著名學者——賓夕法尼亞大學梅維恒 (Victor Mair) 教授、北京大學王邦維教授與萊比錫大學秦莫逆(Monika Zin) 教授——發表之主旨演講外，會議還分11個部會，以供各國學者相互切磋。
會議期間，各國學者收獲諸多建設性之回饋，通過深入討論，學者們對佛教敘事之思考，激發出諸多新見新思。會議結束後數月內，多數學者向會議組織者提交了論文修訂稿。這裡收錄之論文，既有已於學刊發表者，亦有首次刊布者。我等希望此類高品質論文能於更深更廣之層面上，進一步推動對於佛教敘事相關重要問題之研究。
